Starting a career in trucking is a big decision. Before you sign on with any company, here are a few things every new driver should understand:
- Pay is not just about the rate per mile. Some companies advertise high rates but give very few miles. Always ask how many miles per week drivers are actually getting.
- Home time matters. Some companies keep drivers out for 4–6 weeks at a time. Know exactly how often you’ll get home before you commit.
- Equipment quality makes a huge difference. Newer trucks and good maintenance mean less downtime and more comfort on the road.
- Company culture is real. You want a company that actually listens when you have a problem, not one that gives you the runaround.
At 43Blitz LLC, we’re upfront about our pay, miles, and home time. We’d rather be honest with you upfront than have you find out the hard way later.
Thinking about becoming a driver or switching companies? Make sure you know the real picture before making your decision.
